Melbourne Floods from Cyclone Yasi
Melbourne got hit by a mega storm Friday night from Cyclone Yasi which hit south of Cairns, Queensland 3000km away. It caused mass flooding (knee high in places) and mass traffic chaos. This kinda thing seems to happen about once a year... or was the last one just last winter? Weird that its Summer right now...WTF. This was around St Kilda Rd. In Richmond not too far away, the newspaper is saying it was waist deep. Cars were floating in floodwaters. Widespread flooding across the state.
St Kilda
Went to St Kilda for a photo walk. Parked at Ackland St behind Luna Park. Had awesome coffee and went inside Luna Park, then took lots of pictures of The Palais Theatre, walked along the Esplanade and along the beach before heading back to Ackland St for a second coffee break, running into some awesome graffiti off Ackland and along one side of The Palais Theatre.
